Pouch turns a stream of a consumer’s bank transactions into cashflow intelligence — detected income and expense cycles, and how much a person can safely spend across a period. This guide takes you from zero to your first authenticated API call.

The Pouch API is a licensed B2B product. You call it machine-to-machine with a project’s client credentials; there is no end-user login in the API itself.

Sign up to the Pouch Console

Create an account in the Pouch Console , then create an organization for your team. Everything else — projects, credentials, teammates — lives under that organization.

Create a project and get API credentials

Inside the console, create a project. Pouch mints a client id and client secret for it — these are your API credentials. The secret is shown once, so store it somewhere safe.

Credentials are per project, so you can keep separate keys for staging and production. Treat the client secret like a password.

Authenticate to the Pouch API

Every request carries your credentials as headers:

curl https://api.pouchlimited.com/api/v1/business/health \ -H "x-client-id: pouch_acme_ab12cd34" \ -H "x-client-secret: <your-client-secret>"

See Authentication for the full flow and scopes.

Register your customers

A “customer” is one of your end-users whose transactions Pouch analyses. Map them to your project so their data is reachable through your credentials. See Projects & API credentials.

Start building

Pull cashflow intelligence for a customer:

curl "https://api.pouchlimited.com/api/v1/business/customers/123/cashflow" \ -H "x-client-id: pouch_acme_ab12cd34" \ -H "x-client-secret: <your-client-secret>"

Head to the Cashflow API for income, expense and remaining.
