Sandbox

The sandbox lets you upload a sample of consumer transactions and run them through the pipeline without touching production data. It’s the fastest way to see how Pouch groups and analyses a dataset.

Uploading a sample

From the Pouch Console , open Sandbox and upload a JSON sample. Two shapes are accepted:

  • A bare array of transactions, or
  • A Bud-style { "data": [ ... ] } object.

Each upload is stored against your organization so you can revisit it.

Grouping

Transactions are grouped by consumer (user_id) only — the account number is irrelevant. A single consumer’s records may be spread across several accounts; they’re still one consumer. Where user_id appears sparsely, it’s carried forward to the following records.

{ "customerCount": 2, "transactionCount": 3, "customers": [ { "userId": "501", "transactionCount": 2, "dateRange": { "from": "2026-01-01", "to": "2026-01-03" }, "analysis": { "status": "pending_engine", "cashflow": { "income": null, "expense": null, "remaining": null } } } ] }

In the sandbox, the analysis block is a scaffold: detected cycles and cashflow come from Pouch’s engine, which is wired in separately. Uploaded samples surface only what’s in the data (merchant, category, amount) — they don’t infer cashflow from a bank’s tags.
